PhoneMail

PhoneMail is a computerized message-taking service that ensures you never miss a call, while providing easy, reliable access to your messages anytime, from anywhere.

PhoneMail lets you:

  • Retrieve the caller's number, even if he/she does not leave a message
  • Transfer a call directly to PhoneMail to save time, or overcome language difficulties
  • Pick up your messages from any tone phone, anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day
  • Decide when you want messages taken, and when you don't
  • Send PhoneMail messages directly to someone else's mailbox

HKT Fixed Line Services are provided by Hong Kong Telecommunications (HKT) Limited, subject to the relevant terms and conditions.

Ordering and purchasing is simple and straightforward. You can place orders through various channels. Please select the one that is most convenient for you.

To create your PhoneMail greeting

  • Access the mailbox by pressing [*][9][0]. Then press [9]
  • Press [1] to record your personal greeting. Or press [2] to record your name for the standard greeting: "This is (user's name). At the tone, please record your message."
  • Press # after recording
  • Listen for the greeting playback
  • Press [2] to save
To set up, change or delete your password

  • Press [*][9][0]
  • Press [9]
  • Press [3]
The password is optional, but is advisable for security reasons. You can enter a password of up to six digits of your choice. Only those with a password can listen to messages stored in your mailbox.

To activate the service for all incoming calls

  • Press [*][9][1] to activate
  • Press [#][9][1] to cancel
To activate the service when your phone is busy

  • Press [*][9][2] to activate
  • Press [#][9][2] to cancel
To activate the service when no one answers

  • Press [*][9][3] to activate
  • Press [#][9][3] to cancel
To listen to your messages

  • Press [*][9][0] with your registered phone. Or call 2460 2460 from any tone-dial phone. Enter your mailbox number (i.e. your telephone number) followed by [#].
  • Enter your password (if any) followed by [#]
To retrieve the number of a caller

  • Press [6] during or after the message
To transfer a call to mailbox (Online transfer)

  • During a call
  • Press [Flash] or [Conf] or [CW/Conf] or the hook switch, then listen for the tone
  • Press [*][9][5]
  • Hang up
